Different landscape proposals may describe different jobs even when they respond to the same enquiry. Compare the stated work and unresolved choices before drawing conclusions from their totals.
Use one common brief
Place the same property description and priorities beside each proposal. Check which areas and features each one includes. If a contractor recommends a different approach, ask for the reason and record how it relates to the original brief.
List meaningful differences
Identify differences in preparation, materials, planting, access arrangements and handoff. Keep a missing description distinct from a confirmed exclusion. Ask whether an item is included, optional or still undecided rather than guessing from a short line in a quote.
Update the comparison
Keep landscape consultation preparation written clarifications with the correct version of each proposal. If the scope changes, compare the new descriptions again. A useful comparison explains the proposed work; it should not imply that every contractor has offered an interchangeable solution.

Keep the next decision clear
Before taking the next step, place the current brief beside the proposal and check that they describe the same area and intended use. Keep questions that still need assessment visible instead of replacing them with assumptions.
